EVERYONE needs a web site. Whether you're a small-time Joe selling on eBay or a large company peddling your products and services to the world, everyone needs a web site. A presence on the Web separates the small fries from the big boys. If you have a web site, it conveys to people that you've moved into the 21st century and what you have to offer is important enough that you're willing to go the extra mile to tell them about it.
What Makes A Web Site Important? With a web site, it's all about information, information, information. In the days of nothing but brick and mortar businesses, it was about location, location, location. If you had a business on the corner of 2nd and Maple, you would advertise in the local paper, maybe take out an ad in the Yellow Pages, print up some business cards and flyers and rely on foot traffic to be successful. All that has changed. If people knew that you were out there, they would already be at your web site. You need to be found amongst the millions of other sites all vying for people's attention. Without a web site, no one on the Internet knows you exist. When people go to Google and start to search, they're not there to play around. They don't go into it without a purpose.
